ABOUT The ARTIST Candice, muralist and owner of "Mural Experts," has been creating murals to grace homes and businesses since 1994. Candice received her Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the University of Texas in Austin, where she studied painting and printmaking. Candice also studied abroad, painting for one semester at Bezalel Academy of Fine Art in Jerusalem, Israel. Arriving in Tempe, Arizona in 1995, she began painting murals for businesses and residential homes for the Phoenix area. Over the years, Candice has been awarded two grants by the Arizona Commission on the Arts. She received fellowships at The Helene Wurliztor Foundation of Taos, Ragdale Foundation in Lake Forest, IL, and the Hambidge Center for the Arts in Georgia. Candice's work has been published in several national and local publications including Southwest Art Magazine, Phoenix Home and Garden, Arts and Antiques, The Arizona Republic, and the Valley Tribune. She has created the cover illustration on several books including "A Northern Front", by Borealis Books Press. The PROCESS Candice begins by traveling to the site to brainstorm with the client. They discuss ideas about subject, content, style, desired effect, location etc. Photos and measurements of the area are taken. Mural Experts is dedicated to transforming your environment through the highest quality craftsmanship and dedication possible. Each project receives extensive planning before any actual painting begins. Murals are either painted directly on the wall, or at the studio on canvas/panels for installation. Every mural is custom designed so prices vary depending on detail. Consultations are complimentary and may be arranged by phone or e-mail at your convenience. Projects which require scaffolding or other special equipment may cost more. After initial consultation the client is presented with a basic contract specifying what work will be done, for what cost, and on what time line. Payments are made in two stages: Half of the total cost is paid upon signing the contract and the remainder upon completion. If changes should be made during the painting process, this will also be added to the written contract and adjustments are made for payment. Once the design has been finalized, painting begins. At this stage, your imagination becomes reality.
